• Hi there,
I have some problems in regards to contact form 7 set up post upgradation to WP 4.5.3.

My site has many forms. Almost all forms shows configurational errors varied from 1-2 no.s post upgradation of wp. When i click on edit

    it says

‘Copy this shortcode and paste it into your post, page, or text widget content:

    [contact-form-7 id=”527″ title=”Bulk order”]

it is not understood where exactly to paste it.i.e where do i get post, page or content where i’m to add this.

Also in the mail set up following set up exists.

    To
    [email protected]
    From
    [your-name] <[your-email]>

This email address does not belong to the same domain as the site.
    Subject
    [your-subject]

This field can be empty depending on user input.

The one in bold is marked in red color. Am confused whether there remains some set up error in both above as well or is it just a right set up indication.

Pl note that one who configured this section of my site met with an accident and is no more.

Most of the forms when sent post filled gives message in red outlined box as follows

Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.

Pl help as i could not proceed further without this being added correctly.

    Rgds,
    NIRAJ

  • Hi Niraj,

Copy this shortcode and paste it into your post, page, or text widget content:

    [contact-form-7 id=”527″ title=”Bulk order”]

If the form is already on your website, and you are just trying to edit a form, you do not need to post this shortcode anywhere, simply make the changes you require and save the changes. This shortcode is for adding the contact form to a location.

This email address does not belong to the same domain as the site.

This is warning about the configuration of your mail settings. As the email address is not coming form the same domain as the one form is hosted it may be seen as spam and not delivered.

This field can be empty depending on user input.

This is once again a warning about your configuration. Because the subject field is [your-subject] if the form user does not fill out this field the email will not send as an email will not send without a subject. You can solve this by making subject a required field, or changing it to include some text, such as subject [your-subject]

Please fix these issues and if your form is still not working please provide us with a link to your form so that we may trouble shoot.
