Post wont publish, shows live then returns to draft status

  • All of a sudden, I cant publish posts? I didn’t add any new plugins either. The only thing that occured was Adsense automatically turning back on, that’s it.

    I had to confirm twice to publish on two screens. The second screen said the post was “live”, but it’s not. It’s not on my homepage and when I return to Posts on dashboard, that post shows “draft.”

    Somebody please help.

    Have you tried:
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
    – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Nineteen, etc.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    I haven’t yet. But since I didn’t add any new plug-ins, I didn’t think that was the issue…

    Does that mean I need to press “publish” for each and every single plugin I deactivate? It might take ages.

    What are the other possible issues? As I said, I did not add any new plugins and they are all up to date…

    I’m thinking I should call my hosting company because maybe it is related to the server. There’s no reason why this should suddenly happen.
