Post with Image filter not saving settings

Hi Guys,
I’m trying to set up a page with 4 columns with specific category posts displayed under each column. However I’ve tried to use the “Show Posts from a single category:”, “Show posts from selected categories:” and it’s just not working for me. When I click done on each widget the filter isn’t saved.
If i used “Show only posts tagged with:” then I just got a black area as well. The only one the widget seems happy to use is “Show Recent Posts” which isn’t that helpful.
