I am trying to post a video from YouTube to my blog site (www.snelj.com. My site is self-hosted on godaddy.com, so I have registered my username with WordPress.com to get an API Key. On the “Add a Blog/Site” page in Youtube and under “Specific Blog Host Requirements”, I have entered all the requested information, including my new API Key, but get the following error message:

“An error has occurred. Message: Unknown
Reason: xml declaration not at start of external entity: line 2, column 0″

Can someone please advise on what my problem could be?

    Thanks!

I usually switch off the visual editor in the ‘my profile’ page and then just paste the <object> code from YouTube (the Embed section on the right of the player) into a post. It’s always worked fine for me.

Thanks! I’m not going to bother messing with YouTube’s “automated” platform then… Cheers!
