  • got me, i am having the same problem.

    Error 404 – Not Found

I’ve set up a new email account thru my c panel (Host Gator). It’s working fine. It receives my test emails.

I set up my secret email info in wordpress to connect with my Host Gator new email.

When I send a test email, I get a 404 error message…nothing found for installdir Wp.

I’m going on vacation and need to be able to post my blogs daily. Can you help me!!!

I’m bumping this, because I am having the same issues as diannewandruff, and it’s so frustrating! I have followed everything to the letter. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING has worked thus far. The troubleshooting suggestions don’t even mention the problems I’m having (the 404 error & “nothing found for installdir wp”.

I even tried to install the Postie plugin, and that didn’t work, either.

I think you might have used “installdir” in the link, as if it were a subdirectory. Kinda like “example.com”. That’s supposed to be a placeholder for the installation directory where you have WP installed, there is no subdirectory called installdir. If you have WP installed in the top level directory, leave it out, just yourdomain.com/wp-mail.php — or if you installed WP in a directory called “wp” then you’d go to yourdomain.com/wp/wp-mail.php.

Oh, and don’t forget to replace yourdomain.com with whatever your domain really is, or it won’t work. ??
