"Post Update" button disappears when adding an image

“Post Update” button disappears when adding an image or link

Yes this is because instead of “Post Update” button the “Add photos” and “Add link” buttons are displayed to post image and link respectively on BuddyPress activity stream so we don’t need “Post Update” button.

upload video button is not there.

You can’t upload videos on BuddyPress activity stream instead you can post videos on it by using video URL from video sharing website like youtube etc. Just add the video URL in the video URL text box and click on the “Add video” button after displaying preview of the video.
