Post Types settings for Posts only allows Categories, will not save custom tax

    WordPress version 5.9.3

    On the post edit screens I’m getting:
    “More than 1 heirachical taxonomy detected. You must assign a default taxonomy on the settings screen.”

    We have Categories and a Custom Taxonomy For posts called Statuses. Under “Select the hierarchical taxonomy to be used for “category” based expiration.” whenever Statues is selected and saved, the screen reverts back to Categories. It only saves Categories as the option no matter how many attempts. Therefore we cannot resolve the issue on the post edit screen to have the post expire to a custom taxonomy term.
