Post thumbnail not displaying in Interner Explorer 8

For some reason the post thumbnail does not display in Internet Explorer 8, it shows perfectly fine on all other browsers however not in IE8.
I wondered if there was a workaround or if anyone else has come across the same issue?Kind regards
