• When trying to use the thumbnail editor, I can select the thumbnail size I want to edit, but the big “Create Thumbnails” button never becomes active, so I can’t do anything. I ran the debug self-diagnostic, and it failed one test, saying “Stage 2: Submit Button (1,0,1) Submit button should be enabled”.

Worked great before the recent upgrade though! I’ve really become dependent on it, since cropping a thumbnail in the build it media editor is *still* useless if you use featured images.

    Thanks!

Can you copy/paste or pastey the debug log? I haven’t seen this problem with 3.3 yet and hopefully we can figure out what the problem is.

Does this happen for all images? (Or only new, or only ones that existed before the upgrade happened?)

I can’t seem to duplicate this bug, but if I had to guess, I think it could be a conflict with another plugin. If you recently updated some plugins, try disabling them. If we can figure out which plugin it is, I might be able to find a workaround… (Alternatively you could disable all other plugins and see if the problem goes away).

    Thanks for helping!

Same thing is happening to me. Only difference is I’ve never used this plugin before now so I’m not exactly sure what it’s supposed to be doing. This is for a new WordPress installation on a new website running 3.3. Not sure if this is a bug or user error, I was able to crop the image and save it but then no prompts telling me how to use the image, buttons wouldn’t click sometimes. Hope we can get it working, excited to find this plugin and really want to use it!

wigglepit, it sounds like it worked for you… (I hope).

To take advantage of this plugin your theme or posts needs to use the post thumbnails of your images.

    To see if it’s working:

    1. Upload a picture
    2. Modify with PTE
    1. At the first PTE screen you have to select the thumbnails you want to edit AND create a crop. When both of these conditions are met, the submit button *should* be enabled.
    2. After you submit the crop, you will have a review screen where you choose which crops you want to keep. The submit button will disable itself if there are no selected thumbnails to confirm.
    3. Your new thumbnails should be saved.
    • Create a post and insert the thumnail/medium/large version of your image that you cropped.
    • Preview the post to see the cropped image.
    • Alternately, if your theme supports post thumbnails, you will see options other than thumbnail/medium/large and they are used in the theme/plugins somewhere.

Thanks for answering – I think the plugin is actually working just fine, I think it is just user error! (can’t get it to do exactly what I need).

My thumbnails need to be 217 x 140 for my theme, but my photos are mostly 200 x 200, and I can’t find a way to crop them in a way that important parts of the image don’t get cut off when the image is changed from a square to a rectangle. Oh well – thanks for helping, though!

It should still work. In my test installation when I have a small image even though I see some errors and red boxes when it displays the thumbnails initially, it will still create the correct thumbnails for you (if you check the box and then select your crop). What happens is that it upsamples the image so that the end image doesn’t have as good of a resolution, but it still appears to work…

It’s working, it’s just the way the original images were cropped that I’m working with, they are cropped so close and in perfect squares, that I can’t turn them into 217 x 140 images without cutting stuff off – I actually have to put them in Photoshop and add a background to them to fill the space. It’s not the plugin’s fault, it’s just the shape of the original image that’s creating the issue. I’ll definitely be able to use this plugin for other stuff, though! Thanks!

That makes sense, thanks for your comments/help.

Have you had any experience with the Jigoshop Plugin, with yours?

No, have you seen any issues between PTE and this jigoshop plugin?
