• This filter plugin marks each of a post’s headings with a unique ID and then produces a table of contents for the post when the function table_of_contents() (inserted manually into a theme template) is called anywhere outside of the WordPress loop.

The only huge bug in this plugin that I’ve found is due to what I believe is a WordPress bug. This filter inserts the full text of a post when the_excerpt() is called. Please notify me if otherwise.

By the time this plugin is done, I will also make the table of contents print as a nestled unordered list (currently, in order to differentiate between different headers in the TOC list, such as <h2> and <h3>, you would use CSS selectors .toc2 and .toc3, respectively, to give them a different appearance).
