    Hi

The site I am developing has a static front page and I intend to have a menu option pointing at the Blog page. At the moment, the Blog page displays the full posts and I would really like it to just display a brief summary of each, with a ‘Read More’ option. I can’t find how to do this in Ephemeris, can somebody advise please?

    Many thanks

    Ian

    Hi Ian,

If you want to display a short excerpt of your Post on your blog page, rather than the full Post, simply insert a “More” tag into your Post at the Position you want your excerpt to finish. For example, if you only want the first paragraph of your post to display on the main Blog page, insert the “More” tag at the end of your first paragraph.

If you’re using the Classic Editor, you’ll find the “Insert Read More tag” icon on the Visual Editor Toolbar – See https://ewp.guide/go/ce/adding-content-with-the-visual-editor.

If you’re using the Block Editor, simply insert a “More Block” into your content – See https://ewp.guide/go/be/more-block

Alternatively, you can also write a Custom excerpt in the Excerpt Panel at the bottom of the edit page (if using the Classic Editor), or in the Sidebar (if using the Block Editor).

    I hope this helps.
