• Hey, maybe you guys can help me! I’m looking for a plugin that will allow the visitors to my site to submit a story/post to me?
Basically something that will allow everyone to submit post as a draft, that I would later authorize or not? Some such of collaborative effort!

  • You could allow registrations and set the default user role to “contributor” (both settings are under Options > General).

That way, people could write posts, but they couldn’t publish them (they also, as contributors, couldn’t change any of your blog settings).

Hmmm … I guess that could work, but I’d rather not have users on the backend of WP!

Isn’t there any way to work around this?

I know it’s 11 months later, but I’m looking for this too. I want my visitors to be able to submit a post without logging into the backend and maybe even without (*gasp*) registering.

    Add me to the list.

Ideally I’d like to have an text input box at the bottom of the blog’s home page where the user inputs their name, email, website, article, and a drop down menu for selecting a category. After submission it would be saved as a draft, which could then be opened as normally in the back-end.

It’s a good IDEA. I’d like that too. The question I have for you two is, have you put this idea on the ideas forum under the extend heading at the top of the page? I hope they come up with something.

    To all interested parties.

After spending a day-and-a-half on finding a solution to this issues, I finally found it! The plug-in is ‘TDO Mini Forms’ and can be downloaded HERE.

The developer placed the form on its own page, which is a much better solution than my original thought of having it at the bottom of the page.

    Kudos to the developer.
