Post slug redirection.. Normal?

I had a post with the slug “lola-ut”. It was like this for a long time and today I had to change it to “lola-nv”. I assumed that any link to the old lola-ut would be broken, but if I visit https://mysite.com/category/lola-ut it automatically redirects to the new version! I don’t have any special redirection plugins installed. Does this slug redirect feature come standard with WP? How long will the redirect last?
