Post Slug

  • I’m on the latest trunk (as of 4:45 PM EST, Nov 1) and so far I think the new admin panel is looking great. However, I have one major problem with it so far: The post slug. In 2.5-2.6, you developer people had done it right, with the small dynamic line under the post title field. In 2.7 beta 1, it’s back to the 2.3 era meta box rubbish. Is this going to be a permanent change, or is it just a temporary thing during development? I edit the post slug a lot, and I think it was done optimally in 2.5 with the dynamic and easily editable setting above the fold.

    I definitely agree–change that back. This is completely awful. ??

    ClaytonJames, Quick Edit is freakin’ awesome. I don’t know how many times I’ve edited posts just to change a tag or category…

    ‘Yup. That’s what I thought too. I just didn’t want to sound like I was trying to sell it to you. I played with 2.7 for a couple of hours today and one of my test servers, and my knee-jerk reaction to the admin interface is… “this thing Rocks“! (Sorry, that was just my inner child expressing himself).

    I like it so far. We’ll just have to be patient for all the little things to catch up, like plugin updates and code tweakage.

    I’ve just started playing around with 2.7 for the first time and I spent ages trying to find the post slug .. and then I found it.

    Yes, just like it was in 2.3

    The previous version was excellent. Please can we revert back to that…
