• When I update a previously published blog post, the edit page shows the original published date, but the blog shows the updated date. The posts stay in chronological order according to their original published date, but show the updated date instead.

For example, I published a post on 02/05/17, then updated it on 03/29/17. When a reader views the blog, it appears between a post published on 01/15/16 and one published on 02/10/17, but the date stamp on the post shows 03/29/17.

I’ve tried manually changing the publish date, but it still shows the date of the update.

Thanks in advance for your help!

  • Have you tried disabling all plugins and switching to the default theme?

    Hi Rajesh,
I’m a WordPress novice. If I disable plugins, will I have to recreate anything associated with them? I just disabled a couple of plugins that I don’t think I’m actually using (that didn’t seem to do anything), but I’m nervous to disable the following:

+ Google Analytics for WordPress by MonsterInsights
    + Medium
+ Photo Gallery (especially this one, because it would be time-consuming to reload hundreds and photos if I lost them)

Switching to a default theme really scares me because I put a lot of work into customizing a theme I purchased (Magnolia by Laza Themes).

    Thanks,
    Erica
