Hi. All of a sudden, this plugin has stopped refreshing to display random posts. It’s stuck on the same three. See “Highlights From the Blog” here https://www.torforgeblog.com/. Any idea what would be causing that? I didn’t change anything on the backend of the blog. Thanks.

Edit: Okay, nevermind. While I can’t get random to work, I have figured out a different route to take so I’m going to mark this as resolved. No need to look into it. Thanks.

    Hi @greybon,
glad you solved. Could you tell me how have you solved?

Only a note. To display posts in a random order, you have to choose “Order posts by” > “Random” under “Getting posts” panel. Did you make this?

I never did solve it. Selecting random under getting posts no longer works for my blog. I am just going with a different option.

Usually these type of issues occur when a plugin or a theme make some interference.
If you need some help, please ask me.

We are having an issue with the randomizing of posts in different browsers. For example, in Chrome on my desktop, the posts randomize on every page refresh — good. But on IE, the posts do not randomize. I have flushed browser cache, etc, but the posts still remain the same.

    Hello,
I’ve just checked my websites and localhost servers – All is working as expected. You can view an example here (on the sidebar, see the random posts under “ARTICOLI IN EVIDENZA”).

In addition, the feature that randomizes posts selection is managed by WordPress itself. The plugin only tells WordPress what to do (e.g., “take 10 posts from category X and display them in random order”).

I made also a test with Explorer 11 and posts are returned in random order: view the two screenshots here.

I visited your site and posts are the same at every refresh. I’m using Chrome latest version on Linux. Have you disabled randomizing?

Also, let me know your plugin configuration. Go to the Debugging panel of the widget and activate both “Display the query for the widget” and “Display the complete set of parameters for the widget”. In the frontend, copy the returned information and paste it into a pastebin site, like this. Then tell me the link of the paste here.

Tell me, also, if you’re a new user of this plugin or if you never encountered this problem before.

    Let me know, please.
