Post saved has disappeared

Hello,
I have spent 5 hours writing a post – and regularly saving it. When I tried to publish it, I got an error message and all my work disappeared.
I cannot find any saved or even autosaved versions of this post.
Could you please tell me where to look to find the saved versions of it???? they cannot be lost ! There must be logs or temporary files somewhere !
