post reply notifications

    I have my own website and use wordpress for my blog. I love it.
    but I am not in the wordpress “network” that I can see when I visit other wordpress blogs; for example, on the right hand corner of the screen, I can see notifications for when other people have responded to my comments on THEIR blogs.
    So how can I get onto this network of wordpress blogs?
