Equilibrium theme – why ‘featured’ repeated in ‘recent’?

I’ve read through these forums many times, but still can’t figure it out.

Am trying to make sure my three ‘feature posts’ aren’t repeated as the first 3 in the ‘recent posts’. Have mangled them trying to adjust myself, but I end with non chronological nonsense. See it at saintcleveland.com.

I know I need to change the values under the “edit below 1,2,3”, but that’s where I run into trouble.
