Post Rating – deleted ratings remain

    Hello,

    First off, let me start by saying this is a great plugin and I love it! I have only one complaint, but it could cause a big headache and a lot of work on my end, so I want to bring it up.

    I use the Post Ratings feature through “Comment voting statistic mode, total count.” I have noticed that the post ratings of DELETED posts stick around after the post is deleted. This really breaks the feature for me, because I delete comments that are nonsense in the first place, and I don’t want their ratings.

    How can I remove the ratings of comments that have been deleted?

    Hi zsbwiersma,
    I’m sorry but I didn’t follow you. What rating you mean. Do you have custom comment field “rating” in comment form?
    If you mean the Like/Dislike, it doesn’t have any relation to posts, it’s comment rating.

    Thanks for the quick follow-up, and I apologize for any confusion.

    You are correct: I have a custom comment field “rating” in the comment form. The field is required and displays on the comment. It is necessary for users to provide a rated review for my website.

    If I understand correctly, the “total counts” statistic mode I mentioned in my first post averages the total rating by the number of raters. It collects the rating information from the custom comment field rating.

    The problem I have observed is that the ratings from deleted comments are retained in this calculation. I would like the ratings from any deleted comments to be removed so that bad ratings/comments are not included in a final rating. Is that possible?

    I’m sorry but it’s not possible with current version. We’ll add this in our to do and remove rating from deleted comments in future releases.
