Since the latest update the post publication date for scheduled posts with the “Publish future post immediately” option checked is always re-set to the current date when updating a post (with WordPress 5.7 installed).

    Hi @pubfut,

    Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
If you schedule any post or page on a specific future date using SchedulePress then it will automatically update on that day. No need to do anything after scheduling a post.

And if you already set a specific future date for your post, but you select the “Publish Future Post Immediately” option and click on publish button. Then the post will publish and the date & time will be updated with the current date and time. This is the general feature of SchedulePress as well as WordPress.

Hope you understand. Let me know if you have any other queries.

    Thanks for your patience!

@pubfut, I noticed this too. This feature was useful for using posts as upcoming events.

In version 4.0.1 and before, a post could be scheduled (which by default doesn’t show publicly until the future date), and then if you checked “Publish future post immediately” and updated, the scheduled post would then show on the public part of a site.

In version 4.0.2, that no longer works. If you schedule a post and then want it to show publicly now by checking “Publish future post immediately”, the post date resets to the current date.

@arrasel403, it seems like the point of “Publish future post immediately” is to publicly show a post scheduled for the future, like an upcoming event?

I rolled back to version 4.0.1, but that isn’t a good long term solution.

    Thanks.

    Hi @6288media,

Thanks for your message. It seems you are using Classic Editor for scheduling the post.

On the 4.0.1 version of the SchedulePress plugin, we had an issue with the classic editor on the “Publish future post immediately”. That’s already fixed on our 4.0.2 version.

Actually, “Publish future post immediately” this feature will work like as you want to publish your future date and time post immediately means with the current date and time.

You can get to know your upcoming posts list on the admin bar and also get the lists on the SchedulePress > Calendar options. Check this screenshot.

    Hope you understand. Thanks!

    Thanks @arrasel403.

So, the purpose of “Publish future post immediately” is to change a scheduled/future post into a regular published post with current date and time?

We had been using “Publish future post immediately” to publicly show scheduled posts on the front end of the site. Like this plugin, but this one doesn’t seem to work anymore:

To be honest: I do not see a need for an plugin feature that publishes a post at current date, because this is what WordPress does by default (current date when the post is created).

However, it was – and would again be – very helpful to have the option with “Publish future posts immediately” to have posts with future dates published _with this dates_ immediately.

    Hello,

I have the same issue. I want to publish posts with future dates which I was able to before.

Can we get this feature back please?

    Hi @6288media @pubfut @a8mt,

Please update the plugin to the latest version and then recheck once your above-mentioned issue. Hope your issue will be fixed now.

    Let me know the update.

    Thanks!

    @arrasel403

Yes, thank you, the update fixes the issue. We can set a future date and have it published with the future date retained.
