Post previewing and viewing error

  • Updated WordPress to latest version; am now getting this error whenever a post is viewed or previewed:
    preg_replace_callback() [function.preg-replace-callback]: Unknown modifier ‘|’ in /home/eleditor/public_html/wp-content/plugins/markdown.php on line 827.
