Post permalinks broken since 4.4.2

  • On one of the multisite instances I run I encountered the following issue:

    After the automated update from 4.4.1 to 4.4.2, any attempt to visit any post in my main site resulted in a 404 error. Pages were unaffected.

    I resolved the issue by simply going to my site > settings > permalink > and clicking save button.

    I’m kinda worried this will happen again with the next update so for now I’ve disabled automated updates, but that’s not really a great solution, I’d rather understand what went wrong and fix it if possible.

    Are you using any plugins that would effect the permalink structure?

    You can find the changelog of 4.4.2 here However I don’t see anything that would effect permalinks.

    I would recommend not disabling auto-updates but instead checking your site once the update has been complete.
