Post Permalink Changed After Edit? What Should I Do?
-
Hi. Unless I’m going mad, a recent edit to a blog post changed the url from:
https://studioknow.com/2011/01/50-things-to-do-when-you%E2%80%99re-bored-at-home/
to:
https://studioknow.com/2011/01/50-things-to-do-when-youre-bored-at-home/
I realized this because the post’s few thousand Facebook Likes have reverted to zero. The strange characters in the url are there because I (stupidly) included a single quotation mark in the title. Again, I’m sure that I didn’t change the url myself.
I’d obviously like my Like, Tweet and Stumble counts back, so should I manually change the current url back to the original? If I use https://www.likechecker.com, the old url still shows 4k Likes etc.
The original url still seems to point to the current blog post.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks.
