Post / Page view count 0 (zero)

  • I wanted to include a “most popular” widget, or even a views counter at the bottom of each post, but every one I have tried seems to think the count is 0 for all posts.

    I know from analytics that I am getting about 1,600 views/month, so I am wondering why WordPress does not seem to retain the count?

    By default, WordPress does not count, so if you add a popular posts tool, the count is from that point going forward.

    Thanks! You are absolutely correct!

    I am a former Joomla user, and I thought somehow that that data would be in the database.
