• Hi there,

Im looking for a way to list 5 thumbnails with title and excerpt as featured content. The tricky part is that I want it to be versatile for my client. So he needs to be able to select any post or page to be displayed as featured content.

The problem is that all I seem to find are sliders… exactly what I don’t need.

Anyone has seen a tutorial or something to refer me to?

    Thanks in advance.
    Paul

  • How do you intend to determine which posts are “featured”? Sticky posts? Taxonomy? Custom post meta? Something else?

    Yeah, thats the thing…

Can be either a post or a page, so the client can check a checkbox on a post or page and say something like: “featured content”.

All kinds of issues here.. i know. It’s a “wish” from the client so he can just check the content he want to be featured. Doesn’t matter to him when its a post or a page.

I want him to use a post-type “featured” or something… and just loop it in there.

But I thought, lets check on the WP-forums first, who knows what PHP-Wizard made some magic that is already out there.

Your best bet is probably to use custom post meta data, with custom meta boxes.
