urgent problem index page posts

  • hi all.

    i have a urgent problem, when i post posts as sticky, the main page(homepage), some old posts show up between the new posts such as april posts will show up in june etc, is there any way i can fix this, as this is very fustrating and annoying? thanks please reply asap.

    yes there all are sticky

    Then that’s what’s causing your problem. Making posts ‘sticky’ forces WP to display them at the top of the page – even if there are more recent non-sticky posts. To make the older posts drop back into their normal chronological place, edit them, uncheck the sticky option and save the updated post.

    ok will take that into consideration, but is there any other way in fixing this issue besides that?

    Nothing simple that I know of. It’s theoretically possible but would take some fairly advanced coding to pull off, I think.

    Well hé, the goal of making a post sticky, is having it at the top of the page. When it is not THAT important anymore, just edit it and make it “not sticky” anymore and it drops back in line by date with your other posts. Or am I missing something here.

    No – that’s my take on it too.
