Post only window for secondary authors

Hi

I’d like to setup a site that has many contributors. Has anybody modified wordpress’s admin section to only contain a post/write section and nothing more for low level authors? Ideally it would be great if the admin link was replaced with a post link( or a seperate link) and if a registered user clicks on it he is taken to a text editor window with nothing more than a place to type an article, a category selection and an ok button. No other admin sections or stats or anything.
I know next to nothing about php so if this has been done by somebody that would be great!
