My post notification emails were being sent successfully through Dec. 11, 2021. The next post should have gone out on Dec. 16th. Three notifications were backed up in the queue when I realized notifications were not being sent. The history showed no errors, it looked like they were all in sending status and the Pause/Resume button displayed “Pause.” The System Status tab showed the Task Scheduler as running (connection successful) and I found no issues.

On Dec. 29th I removed all of the old post notification tasks from the queue and created a test post, reset the notification email to send immediately (instead of at midnight) and sent it to myself only. I successfully received the notification, which shows on this page: https://seasaltandsailorstripes.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=mailpoet-newsletters#/notification/history/5.

I reset the notification form to go to my Website subscribers on midnight. Yesterday I published a post. Again, it did not get sent and it is sitting in the queue as if all is well, except that it should have gone out at midnight. I have no doubt that it will continue to stay in that state for days and other notifications will join it.

I didn’t make any changes to my website before this started happening. Can anyone tell me how to correct this issue? I have a small group of subscribers, but it feels very unprofessional to not send notifications to those who subscribed.

I have the MailPoet version 3.75.1 plugin installed. It is set to automatically update. Today my WP version was updated to 5.8.3, but this started happening before today’s upgrade, so it isn’t related to that.

Thank you very much for your help.

    Hi there @dottiepoole,

    Thanks for reaching out!

I’m sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with post notifications.

Could you please review this article that contains the most common causes for issues with Post Notification emails and how to solve them?

    Hi Gui,

Thank you for responding. I had read that article, but after you resent it to me, I started looking at my Settings pages more carefully. I have reapplied for an account, gotten a new activation key, adjusted some settings in my MailPoet setup and will see if the one email I left in the queue goes out. It has been about an hour and it hasn’t gone yet. It still says sending. If I look at the post notification and edit it, I see the message “You’ll soon be able to send once our team reviews your account.” I have verified the activation key and get a message that I can send mail

I will wait and see if this goes out a little later. If it doesn’t go out, I will respond in this thread tomorrow.

    Thank you again.

    Hi Gui,
My post notification did not send yet. For some reason, it looked like it needed to be activated again this evening. It was active yesterday, so I don’t know if it is related to the team reviewing my account, the settings I changed or something else.

I see the notification is still in the queue with the status Sending. Nothing looks wrong to me.

Given that this is already in the Sending queue and it’s just sitting there, I think that there is some other problem.

Since this post is now several days old, I am going to move the notification into the Trash. I have a new post this evening and the notification trigger is set for 12 am. If that doesn’t work, the problem has not been solved.

My latest post notification is stuck in the queue in sending state. Up until Dec. 11th this process worked every time for years. Now my post notification emails never leave the sending state. I don’t see any errors and no messages that anything is wrong.

In spite of reregistering, reactivating with a new key, updating the settings, the behavior is exactly the same as before I made all of the changes. I am stuck with no idea of how to proceed.

Is there anyone who might be able to see what the issue is?

    Thank you very much!

    Hi there @dottiepoole,

Thanks for the details. I don’t think changing they MailPoet key would change anything.

Before investigating this further could you please try recreating the Post Notification email from scratch?

    Hi Gui,

I created a new post notification from scratch and when I clicked preview I got an error message. I went back to the old email and clicked preview and got the same error. Perhaps there is a clue in this error? Note, with the original email, I send a test notification email to myself and it worked.
Here is the error I see when I click Preview on the Post Notification Email:

I just did a preview on the new post notification email and the old one (both of which gave me the error I mentioned above). Now I don’t see the error. I sent a test email to myself for the new post notification email and that worked.

I see that there was a MailPoet plugin update today. I am not sure that it had any impact on the error going away, just observed the update happened.

Given that test emails to myself worked on the old notification email, but emails to my subscribers sat in the Sending queue indefinitely, I don’t know that anything positive has happened. I don’t have another blog post scheduled until next week.

    Hi Gui,

My post notification emails appear to be working again. I think it may be due to the plugin update a week ago, because emails were sent that night, but I cannot be positive. I’m hopeful that things will go smoothly moving forward.

    Thank you for your help.
