Post more tag

I’m trying to use the more tag on the blog template to get the Continue reading link to show, but it just won’t work. I’ve tried setting the theme options to show full post or excerpts to see if that makes a difference.

I’ve even tried editing the the_content on the content.php file in the theme.

Am I missing something really obvious? Thanks in advance.
