Post mismatch between Website and WordPress dashboard after restoring old backup

  • Hi,

    Recently i restored the database backup file (which was of 4th July) and it restored successfully. And all the posts till 4th july are showing in in website properly.
    But in WordPress dashboard posts upto August are showing which should be showing till 4th July.

    So please someone can help me fix this so that in WordPress dashboard also show posts only up to 4th July. So that i can restore the WordPress backup.

  • It depends on what you did for your restore. If the database is emptied and then the backup is loaded, you would get only what is in your backup. But if it does not empty the database first, and uses REPLACE instead of INSERT, then the more recent posts since the backup would remain.
    If there are posts you don’t want, delete them.
