Post just excerpt of posts

You don’t really need a plugin for that.
In your index.php template file you could replace the_content tag with the_excerpt – while keeping the_content in the single.php file, and that should do exactly what you want.

Out of the box the_excerpt tag doesn’t have that functionality.
Your may want to try a search for excerpt related Plugins in the Codex, or here in the forum.

How do I get the_excerpt to work on catogory pages and on the archive pages? Which files need to be edited?
