I am using this plugin into one of my client’s site. The problem, When I share a post using this plugin, the image associated with the post is not rendering. It is showing images that are irrelevant to the post and which is located in the page. If you are not clear with the question, please give me a message. I am happy to clarify your doubts.

  • Hi Rene,
Thank you for your fast response. Is Featured Image the only option? My problem with Featured Image is that it’s pre-defined position on the page is not where I want it- ever! Is there any way of specifying the image to use?

    Thank you,

    Daniel

Its possible that there are other open graph plugins available which allows you to use any other image instead the featured image but i do not know them.

If you do not want to see that featured image in your post, you could remove it from the theme template. Probably you find it in the template file
    your-theme/post.php

Thank you for your help. My goal is to have the title and title image display when a reader shares on Facebook, et al. There is a plugin called “Auto Featured Image From Title” Is there s way to have Mashshare grab “image-title” and headline from another plugin? I hope so. I’d love to be able to use your buttons. You can see what the image-title and headline would look at https://solarmaxsystems.net/jobs-home/

    Hi,

Mashshare uses the open graph image og:image from the free Mashshare open graph add-on or from any other open graph plugin.

It also uses the featured image of any post if there is no og:image, but this is not working for Facebook every time, so a featured image ios recommended.

Currently, there is no way to use a image from any other plugin.

    Regards,
    René

    Hi René,

Is there any way to specify the OG image for Facebook? I would be happy to just have our logo display properly.

    Thank you.
    Daniel

    Hi Dan,

use the mashshare open graph add-on. It allows you to define a logo image for all posts which do not use any featured image.

    Regards,
    René
