• At first I thought this was great, until I realized that it was not accurate at all. The first post I put up while using it got over 2,300 hits in one day! Great! Except that WordPress said I only had 253 hits on my blog that day. So that night I wrote a new post and back dated it to just before the first one went up. I immediately looked at the post counter and it said that new post which had only been up a few seconds had 43 hits.

I’d love to think all this was true. But it isn’t. I’m taking this counter down. It makes me feel good, but that’s not the point.

    Hi.

I’m sorry you have had these issues.

I have today updated the plugin, so it only counts a visit one time for each user.

a view will first be counted again when the user have closed and reopened hos browser.

I expect this to solve your problem.

I will be glad if you will test it out for me, and let me know if you have any issues.

I have noticed the same issue on two different websites I am running. The hits seem to be very high posts getting 20 hits within a few seconds of posting. when compare the hit to google analytic getting two different stories. Post from yesterday using the counter says 97 hits but analytics is saying no one has visited the site.
