• Hello dear friends,

I’d like to add a function to each post to display the number of reads of that particular post.

Only I don’t know how to do that. Is it to do with a single php code or do I need a plugin for that?

  • try searching at wp-plugins.net for a plugin… there are plugins that do this. I’m not sure of a way to just enter a code into your theme or not…

If you don’t want it to be public, you could sign up with performancing.com. You basically stick a bit of code in your footer, and performancing will track all sort of stats for you. Find out what the screen resolution of your visitors for example. It will track views for each post as well.

There’s one problem with that though. Some people just read the list, they never click on a post, or even a category. They come, they read the list, skip over some items, read others. There’s no real way to know which posts they actually read. Tracking post reads is more meaningful when they are old, and people are finding the archive through google etc. When it’s fresh content, it’s hard to be sure.

If they want to read the post they must click on the title before they can read them on my website. So it is important to see how many times it has been read. I’ve tried 2 plugins that I could find but it didn’t work proparly within my wbesite. Isn’t there a easier way?

The https://performancing.com option will work fine. Have you checked it out?

I haven’t so I will do that after the soccer match tonight ?? thanx for your advice!!!
