This is not built in to Postie but it is a fairly simple feature for you to add using the postie_post_before filter. See https://postieplugin.com/postie_post_before/

Just return null if you want to skip the post.

I am including an attachment of what we are trying to do via link

we are getting to much spam and I was asking to see if there was a way to filter out and or prevent Postie from posting if it matches key words like “No New Symbols” or or “no New” or so simply “NO” Our Blog and post areas are constantly have to be cleared out with over spam and result-less posts

    can u help? Also

Also do you have any any examples Posts containing video utilizing your video tab?

I cant seem s to get it to work and was hopping to attach an embedded you tube video that starts to play right away without having to press play button

Also can we attach image banner instead with pop up or what not?..

The big concern that I have is:
    1. if we are using an override function for each category already…
and I need each separate category to display its own image or video then what do we do?

2.obviously we can achieve this via Pop up plug in how ever I wanted to see
the functionality and options utilizing postie.

3.I believe that in your pro version you are able to setup separate Categories and just use postie drop down menu to redirect?

4.or do we still need to utilize special characters to match category function.

Lots of question. In the future please create a new thread for each question.

    >I was asking to see if there was a way to filter out and or prevent Postie from posting if it matches key words

As I said before there is nothing built into Postie to do this. If your interested in having me create a custom addon for you please contact me at [email protected]

    >do you have any any examples Posts containing video utilizing your video tab?

Postie is aware of WordPress oEmbed functionality so typically all you need to do is include the URL to the video. Note that some email clients add extra markup to the rich text/html version of the email. This can cause issues with WordPress not doing what your want it to.

The video tab specifically refers to videos that are attachments to the email. You can try it yourself by sending an email with a video attachment.

    >Also can we attach image banner instead with pop up or what not

Maybe. Remember that Postie is like the post editor. The theme has the responsibility for the look and function of the post.

    >1. if we are using an override function for each category already

That is the responsibility of the theme, not Postie.

    >3.I believe that in your pro version you are able to setup separate Categories

There is no “pro” version, but there are some paid AddOns. There are a couple that deal with categories and the one I think you are refering to just assigns a default category to a user. No more no less.

    >4.or do we still need to utilize special characters to match category function

Depends what you are trying to do. You can specify the category in the email subject line as described here: https://postieplugin.com/faq/override-post-categories/
