I’ve recently found that all my post edit pages in admin get stuck. The page content itself has returned but it gets stuck running all the javascript and I thought it was never completing, but I did leave it once and it took 23 minutes (yes, minutes) for the javascript to finish running and the page to become responsive.

I’ve tried to debug through but there’s just way too much javascript. However, after 5 minutes it’s still wandering through draft-js-1520.js, search-metadata-previews-1520.js, classic-editor-1520.js and component-1520.js.

I’ve found that disabling this plugin resolves the problem. I’ve tried keeping it enabling but just switching off the various features, but even with all the features switched off, it still happens. Only disabling the plugin resolves the problem.

I was experiencing this on 15.1.1 and upgrading to 15.2 unfortunately did not resolve the problem.

    Cheers, Rik

    Hi @riklewis,

Sorry to hear that this is happening! This sounds like there’s a plugin or theme conflict causing the load times on the edit screen, especially since deactivating Yoast SEO features doesn’t seem to have any effect.

To gather as much information to help us troubleshoot, please do the following:

    1. Check for?JavaScript errors in the console when you edit a post. In addition to any JavaScript errors in the Console tab, do you see any 4xx or 5xx errors for any files or assets under the Network tab?

2.?Check for conflicts following the steps in the guide, starting with deactivating all plugins except for Yoast SEO and switching to a default theme like Twenty Twenty. Do the errors appear?

    Thanks for responding.

Nope, no javascript errors in the Console or Network tabs

I have tried with the Twenty Twenty theme and that didn’t solve the problem. I can look at disabling other plugins, but at the moment this is a live site and there’s no staging site, so need to get that sorted before I can do anything too drastic.

@riklewis We can certainly understand not wanting to test on a live site.

If you don’t have a staging site, we do recommend using the?Health Check & Troubleshooting?plugin. This plugin allows you to run a conflict check?without affecting normal visitors to your site.
