• I created a duplicate form and everything works like a charm, except for one thing: No matter what I chose for “post status” in the dropdown, the duplicate post gets published either way.

Working with the latest version of Elementor Pro, CPT and ACF Frontend.

Hello thank you for reporting this issue. We will look into this and let you know what we find. Have you tried using a “post status” field?

I have to admit, I am not sure what you mean with “‘post status’ field”. Do you mean an extra custom field? If yes, how can I make that affect the actual post status (published, draft, pending,…)? Sorry for the stupid questions – I’m still quite new to ACFs ^^

To avoid misunderstandings – the scenario I am looking for is as follows: A contributor should be able to create a duplicate post on the frontend, apply his edits to it and then submit it for review. So the original should stay online, while the duplicate should not be published until an admin looks into it, publishes the duplicate and deletes the original (or merges the edits into the original… not sure yet which way I’ll go on that).

I tried to achieve that with the post duplicate form widget in Elementor and everything works as intended – original stays as is, duplicate is created with edits. Just that no matter what I chose in Post => Post Status, the duplicate always is in the status ‘published’.
