Post displays don’t work with custom tax

I’ve used the plugin to add a taxonomy called “Event Type” and created one post with an event type designated (“Exploration”). I can see the input boxes in the editor for the designated post and it shows the proper values, but when I try to use a query loop to display posts, it fails. The “Event Type” parameter shows in the config box but the whole block crashes when I try to add a parameter to the query loop – even wipes out the block configuration completely so I have to delete and start over.

Jetpack and various other post display blocks (e.g. Blockspare, Gutenverse) return nothing when I set up the parameters to show posts of “Event Type” “Exploration,” the built in query-builder just crashes completely and refuses to function at all if I try to include a parameter string for “Event Type.”

I’ve checked everything I can check – your setting, blog settings, etc. – and I can’t find what I’m doing wrong here.
