Post displaying incorrect author in comments

I have a Protected Post that receives comments. When the author (call her ‘Jane’) replies, her name and avatar is not shown. Instead the administrator’s name and avatar is displayed.

Jane tried to enter her name and email directly into the Edit Comment box, which at least changed the reply author’s name, but the admin’s avatar is still showing.

I should note, that the administrator changed the author to “Jane” a few days after the post was published.

Is there a way to correct this? Thanks
