Hi! Earlier tonight I hit PUBLISH and my post just disappeared. Poof! Gone. Not in trash. Not anywhere. Just gone!

Then, I tried typing in the URL for the post just to see what would happen; and I was able to get to the post; even though it shows up NOWHERE IN MY DASHBOARD and NOWHERE ON MY PUBLISHED SITE. https://www.cinfullysimple.com/granny-smith-toasted-pecan-chicken-salad/

I’ve refreshed, deleted cookies, shut down and restarted, etc.

Being logged into WP, I went to the top and pulled up EDIT from the post URL site. It allowed me into editing mode–even though if you go to DASH it still doesn’t show up. I hit UPDATE. Still nothing on my published site. Then an hour later I got the email notification of a new post–I have that set up. I can click on that link and get to the post But it’s still not showing up on my published site?? It’s the craziest thing!

Can anyone help me to figure out how to get it “published” for real. It’s like it’s ghosted? Last time I checked WP had nothing to do with Craigslist (HA HA).

Thanks for any help you can provide!

I’ve never had this happen before and I don’t know how to make it visible on the published site or in dashboard. It’s got to be a WP update glitch. I recently updated 4.3?

I have another site also and I’ve notice the SAVE button has disappeared so if you have info on that too, it would be helpful.

Are you still having this problem? I see your post using the link above, and also see it on your home page, as well being as listed on your ‘kitchen sink’ page. Hoping it cleared itself up for you by now.

Regarding your save button going missing, I see you found another thread with the same trouble. You might want to start a new thread yourself for just this issue, since it may or may not be related. If it were me, I would start by disabling all plugins to see if the button comes back. If so, start reactivating them one at a time to find the troublemaker.

Hi Bill! Thanks for the follow up!

I figured out the problem with the post but still don’t know why it happened. I’m going to walk through the steps here so that others can troubleshoot when they have the same issue–I’ve seen other posts of this nature. The post was not gone, just misdated.

Somehow the post had the wrong date – it was dated back to May which explains why it didn’t show up in my posts in my dashboard, scroller or on my homepage. It was placed in with posts from May. I didn’t change the date but something did. I don’t know if it changed when I published it or before. But there are two possibilities in my opinion as to why the date was changed:

One, when I started working on the post it was through the WordPress App on my Ipad. It’s possible that the date might have been set incorrectly to start with or just that it created a wrong date. Not likely I know but the WP app can be glitchy.

The second option is that when I opened it on my laptop through the web interface, it pulled it in as the wrong date to start with or given some type of glitch, it changed at the time of publishing.

There is one other option which is that it might have been an ID-10-T error where I inadvertently changed the date without knowing it, but frankly this is unlikely.

As to the SAVE feature. I’ve seen a lot of people talking about this since 4.3. I assumed all of these things are related and still not convinced they are not. Will start a new thread for that one.

I’m glad you got this worked out! I was going to mention the possibility of an incorrect date but saw that the date of the post was already current.

Thanks for posting your findings for someone else coming across your thread. Cheers.
