• UPDATE: I don’t know how I didn’t realize this, but I was just toying around with a different theme, and I noticed the same issue (described in detail below) exist…

    Greetings!

I recently began using the Hitmag theme, and I like it a lot! I use a child theme and I’ve made several CSS revisions in the CSS panel of the customizer. I’m hosting locally using Wamp.

Yesterday, I noticed that suddenly the post pages of my site – in the main content area, not in the footer, header, or sidebar – are completely centered. Headings, post content, related posts, comments – everything. As a first step, and figuring I must have messed up the CSS somewhere, I cut ALL my CSS to see if the page would revert to normal, but it did not. I also tried uninstalling some recently installed plugins (though I do believe posts were displaying correctly with the plugins installed, I was at a loss and simply began trying stuff), but this did nothing either. All my plugins are up to date and they are all, according to WordPress, compatible with my version of WordPress.

Having had no luck, I decided I would delete and reinstall the theme. Exported my widgets and copied my CSS, activated a different theme, deleted both the parent and child themes, downloaded a fresh copy from Hitmag’s website, uploaded, installed and activated it. Lo and behold, my site looked the exact same way it did before, and my CSS was still present. I did some Googling and found that I may have to delete certain files in my database, but I’m an ammeter and have not figured out how to do this. My hope is of course that I can do a truly fresh install of the theme, and then voila, my problem will be fixed.

So, does anyone have any thoughts on what may have gone wrong with my theme and how I can correct it, or does anyone have any idea how I can fully delete my theme and start from scratch, hosting locally and using Wamp?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can and is willing to provide!

    Chris

    Hi,

Did you try changing settings in the customizer?

There is a setting to center the content.

However I cannot exactly say what is going on without looking your site.

    Thank You.
