Hello,
I have a problem with the Post Carousel widget.

When an article is published, the widget should automatically display the last published articles. However, it doesn’t, it doesn’t display it unless I manually update the page where the widget is located.
I checked if the problem could be with a plugin or the theme by disabling them, but that does not solve the problem.

I have rollbacked the plugin and it works fine in 1.17.11 but not in version 1.18.0 and later.

WordPress v5.8.2, PHP v7.3.29, SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle v1.28.0

Hi, thanks for reaching out.

I’m unable to replicate the issue at the moment. There are a few troubleshooting routes you could take. One option is to upgrade and then set up a test page. Insert a Post Carousel Widget and confirm the issue is happening with the new test page.

I tried on a single page with all extensions disabled and the problem is still present.

When I added “eee” and “fff” posts after adding the siteorigin carousel widget, they are not automatically added to the carousel. If I go to the page now, and update it, it works … until I add a new post.

Do you know where the problem can come from?`

Hi Michael, thanks for your reply and feedback.

Have any of the SiteOrigin Post Carousel settings been adjusted? Are there any arguments in the Additional field?

To rule it out, please, could you also test with a default theme like Twenty Nineteen and all plugins deactivated except for the Widgets Bundle.

Unfortunately, we haven’t come across an issue like this before so I’m not quite sure what the cause is…yet.

Thanks for your quick answer,

No, I’ve added the SiteOrigin Post Carousel without changing any parameter.

All plugins are disabled except Site Origin.

We will discuss internally about your Premium support, it will take some weeks but it seems interesting.

Maybe in the meantime, can you tell me where to investigate ? (nothing in php apache or php, nothing in console javascript …) ?

Hi Michael

I’m unsure at this stage as we can’t replicate the issue. If you could perhaps try with a default theme, that would be helpful. A quick test to rule out any theme conflict.

Hi,

Thanks for your answer.

I found where the problem came from but i don’t know how to fix it.

With the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle in version 1.17.11, when I add the carousel (without changing any parameter), I have this for the post in Database :



whereas if I make the same thing with the version 1.18.0, I have this :



If I withdraw ,”widgetHtml…….. …” it works well, otherwise all new post are not shown.

Any idea ?

I’ve add an “!” line 162 in compat/block-editor/widget-block.php
And it solved the issue, but I don’t know why ….

Hi Michael,

Thank you for your report. I’ve taken a look over the reported information and come up with a method of excluding the Post Carousel from the SiteOrigin Widgets Block. I’ve submitted the fix here and prepared you a build which you can download by clicking here.

Before proceeding, do a backup.

Navigate to Plugins > Installed Plugins and deactivate SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle, and then delete it. Scroll to the top of the page and click Add New, Upload Plugin and upload so-widgets-bundle.1.28.1-beta.zip. When prompted, activate SiteOrigin Widets Bundle.
