It looks like the Post By Email strips out the rel=”noopener noreferrer” and target=”_blank” tags from links in an email.

Is there any way to bypass this stripping of the tags? If I want my external links to open in a new window these are useful to be able to include.

I could use Postie as an alternative, but Jetpack is fine.

    Thanks

There is not a way to include those at this time, but all webmail providers should be opening email links in new tabs or windows regardless.

    Thanks.

Just to be clear, the jetpack post by email doesn’t involve web mail providers since it is posting to a new WordPress post. Ideally they wouldn’t be filtered so external links that are in a WordPress post could open a new window.

Oh, sorry Post by Email. For some reason my head went to subscription emails.

Yes, HTML tags are stripped out via post by email as a way to sanitize the incoming data, we don’t have any plans to stop that at this time.
