Post Bar acting up

  • Hello everyone.

    I don’t quite know how to describe this, but whenever I go to create a new post – or edit an old post, the WordPress editing options, such as Italics, Bold font etc etc just disappears, sometimes it works, and other times it doesn’t – I don’t know whats happening. Here’s a screen shot of it in action;

    Anyone got any ideas as to what could be causing this? It’s making a new post a really pain not having those options on the Post Screen.

    Yeah, I’ve just tried the Twenty Ten theme, and it’s still showing.

    I’ve even created a new post, typed out all the text again (ass oppose to copy ‘n paste it over) and it’s still displaying the italics. I always create the posts from WordPress, never from Word or anything like that.

    Is it anything to do with Safari?

    No – I’m seeing <em> tags in Firefox – though it’s difficult to distinguish those that shouldn’t be there from those that you intentionally added.

    Try resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin (preferably the latter). Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    If it’s not being fixed by a change of themes, gut instinct says that it’s a plugin,

    There shouldn’t be any there.

    I don’t see them on the single post page – just the home page (it’s the post I’ve been using as a reference point as I’m not so sure about some of the others). Insertion of specific additional markup on one type of page as opposed to the same content on another can really only be down to either:
    – a plugin
    – the theme (via a template file of a function)

    Actually, looking at it – all the posts that contain the SimpleViewer plug-in turns the posts to italics. Hmmm – so it’s down to the plug-in.

    I’ll look into the plug-in to see what could be causing it.

    Hmm, I’ve done something, and all seems to be working ok now….No idea what I did though :s
