• Beginning yesterday, I noticed that posts I’m making are suddenly appearing like they’re authored by someone else on my list of users (DJ Just John), and not me.

    The blog is https://www.WindowsMobileLouisville.com

I read on another support post that I should be able to change the author in the Manage posts section, but in the drop-down menu, only Ian Husk and DJ Just John show up – there isn’t an option for my name…

I added DJ Just John as an author some time last week, but only beginning yesterday did he start showing up as the author of my posts.

    Any ideas? Thanks!

  • Add a “nickname” to your profile and you should be fine.

I’ve had a nickname in there for a while now – “Matt Coddington” – the thing that strikes me as odd is how this just began yesterday. I’ve not done anything with users since last week, and suddenly this began…

UPDATE: I just went into my profile and simply hit Update User (without making any changes), and suddenly my name appears in the drop-down menu! Not sure what happened there, but at least I’m back to being the actual author! ??

Okay I tried the above method but no luck. Posts of Admin gets published on some other user name. Anybody Please Help.

I thought what moshu said fixed that problem, but since that doesn’t work for you, could create a new user (newadmin) with admin Role, login as that user, delete the user ‘admin’ and assign to posts to ‘newadmin’ user, then create a user called ‘admin’ login as ‘admin’, delete the ‘newadmin’ user and assign posts to admin.

It worked. Hope it will not crop up again. But why that happenned? Any Idea. Thanks for your help.

    I just found this workaround.

Will this break any RSS subscriptions to the “Admin” user’s pots if I do this create, assign, delete, create, assign, delete?

I also found a work around. Hope it can work for you too.

I manage 9 users who I have as authors.

If I post on their behalf (sad I know!) the post is obviously assigned to me.

If I degrade the user temporarily to contributor, then reassign the post to them, then upgrade them back to author user, the post is theirs to manage.

    Easy

It doesn’t work for me, can someone ive me step by step instructions please?

This is crazy. So I created a new administrator, changed my original admin to an editor and then I could change the post author to the original admin. Then I changed the original admin back to administrator.

Is this a bug of 2.7?

    bump.
