• When I write a post, whether I leave it as a draft, or publish, it creates a duplicate post. Similarly, when I edit a published post, when I Update the post and go back to the post list in admin, there is a duplicate and it add the “-2” and so on for slug.

I thought maybe this was due to post revisions, or autosave, but I have disable both and it still appears to be happening. Please advise anything else to test or check. Thanks!

  • Are you using the Gutenberg editor or the legacy WordPress editor?

@mpurham I’m upgraded to 5.1 and I’m using the Classic Editor plugin

I have tested the classic editor plugin with the latest 5.1 and it seems to work fine. Maybe there is another plugin causing your posts to duplicate or perhaps the form is being submitted twice when you are saving or editing a post.

Are you using any plugins that add extra functionality to your post editor. Such plugins could be Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) etc?

I have WPBakery Page Builder installed. But not using it for Posts, only Pages. Not seeing duplication one the Pages type. Only for Posts.

Jetpack. I have tried disabling it to see if that made a difference but no luck.

Not using ACF or anything like that for post types.

Hi @mpurham just wanted to follow-up and see if you had other thoughts or things I might try. Thanks!

@kevincooper it is possible that one of your plugins are causing the form to submit twice. Though tedious, try disabling each plugin one-by-one to determine which one is causing the issuse.
