    Hi,

I like the idea of the plugin and need exact this! But I have a problem with it:

I’ve installed the plugin over the integrated installer and activated it. For testing purposes I added a new post and give access only to user1 but not to user2 or to a group.

But if i go to my wordpress with the user2, I see the post (the title is replace to: “Private: Access Denied”) in the overview with all my other posts and I can click on it. The post opens normaly and shows the content.

So there is the change on the title but nothing on the access to the content. What happend wrong? Do I have to change something?

Again: I like and need this plugin! It’s exactly what I want! Please help me!

    Thank you!

    Hi dadaen,

Sorry for the slow response last week, I am not sure what is going on but I will work on replicating this and fixing it.

    Hi again,

I have been able to replicate the issue where the post is listed within a page going through the loop. I’m working on a new version of the plugin to address that issue and I am thinking that should also remove the second issue where the link brings the user to a page where they can see the full text since they won’t be able to get to a link of it even.

Please let me know if you’d like an option to let the user see the page in the listing but then not be able to see the content once they follow that link.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Thank you for your support and the possibility to take part on a development decision!

I’m not sure what’s the best option, is it possible to leave this open and let the plug-in-user decide? Maybe a general option in the backend or and individual option on every record?

Thank you again for this plug-in, it’s exactly what I need for my use-case!! ??

I’m looking forward for the new version and will test it asap.

    Best Regards,
    Daniel

    Hi,

I’ve updated the plugin with quite a hefty change although the interface really shouldn’t have changed at all. I didn’t add anything for options at this point because I wanted to get the actual access controls working and make sure it was doing what you needed it to.

I have a few minor upgrades planned that I’ll be working on to add some options around this change as well as a few other things that came to mind when I was digging around in there. Let me know how it looks to you now and if it’s doing what you need.

I’ll leave this topic open until I hear back from you that it’s resolved and doing what you need.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I’ve tested (quick test) the new version sucessfully on my page. It seems, that everything is fine and the record is hidden, if I have no permission to view it.
Thank you for your fast support and the fix!! ??

Just a additional hint for the next version. Sometimes i use the possibility to secure a record with an password. This is, with the activated plugin, not possible. May you can implement this in the next version?

    Thank you again! ??

    Best Regrads,

Glad it works for you! I actually do have a to do item for integrating this with that visibility option that exists in core. I can move that up the priority list and let you know when a new subverison is ready with that as an option.

I’ve updated to version 0.9.1 which includes an option (in the Settings -> Post Access Controller page within the admin) to re-enable the core “visibility” options again. I just have some code in there to hide it right now so I just added toggle to re-enable it. Ultimately I hope to incorporate the Post Access Controller code to work with the Visibility options but not sure how possible that will be. This solution should get you what you want (be able to use the password option) so take a look.
