Possibly a permalink issue after a migration to another server
-
I am very new to WordPress, I am very good with PHP though.
I recently migrated a WordPress site for a new client to another server. I followed instructions from the WP docs and everything seems to be working fine, but I am having one issue.
The theme is using a static front page and before moving to the new server the default posts page url was: https://www.example.com/world-of-jenny
Now at the new server that same request to /world-of-jenny results in a 404. I am not sure if something I did with the permalinks has caused an issue or what. After I first moved the site I was getting the Alternative options error saying there was no index.php file, After setting permalinks back to their default settings everything worked and I was able to reconfigure the custom links that the site had at its previous server. As far as I can tell, I have everything there configured exactly the same as before the move.
There is a file named world-of-jenny.php that resides in the themes folder.
I looked in settings > reading and there is nothing in the default posts field, but that is how it is configured on the old server as well.
Can anyone please point me in the right direction to resolve this?
Thanks!
