Possible v2.8 bug – Unable to add Categories

    For some odd reason, I’m unable to add any categories to my blog.

    Whenever I click in a field to add a category name, the blank field actually “jumps” into the category listing window pane. It doesn’t allow me to type in the blank field unless I hold down the left-click of the mouse and type it in. Once I’m done typing in the field I’m still unable to save any settings. Nothing happens when you click the apply button.

    At the time of this writing I only have, “uncategorized” as my only category. Any help is appreciated.

    did you installed fresh WP 2.8 or upgrading from older version?
    if you upgrading from WP 2.7.1,
    i suggest try to fresh install WP 2.8.
    i also have same problem, after i upgrading my version into WP 2.8.
    the worst here i can’t connect with my database ??

    before you create fresh installation, make sure you back up your data base.then try to clean up your data base and also de-activate all
    of your plugin.
    after you finished, restore your back up data.
    it work for me ??

    Update – I updated a couple of my plugins and now I’m able to create categories again. Thanks for all the advice. Remember to update your plugins!
